The Flexographic Technical Association (FTA) has announced that Global Packaging Inc., Oaks, PA, USA, is the first flexo printer certified by the Sustainable Green Printing Partnership as an SGP Printer.

Global Packaging is a wide web printer specializing in complex graphics up to 10 colors. Markets serviced and supported by the firm include personal care, baby diapers, towel and tissue, frozen foods, bakery goods, and candy. The company focuses on continuous improvement, investment in the latest technology and commitment to quality, sustainability, employee safety, social responsibility, and efforts to reduce environmental impact, says Tony Maginnis, CEO.

“Our customers include some of the largest consumer products companies in the world with demanding requirements in the area of print quality, color consistency, sustainability and service,” Maginnis says. “We meet these requirements by investing in state-of-the-art equipment, hiring the best employees in the business, exploring new opportunities in sustainability, and developing true partnerships with our customers.”

The SGP Partnership is an independent certification organization with the primary goals of defining sustainable green printing and recognizing facilities meeting established sustainable manufacturing and business practices. Additional support is provided by SGP Patrons and associations. Printing facilities in the US and Canada are eligible to apply for recognition.
